Did you know …….?
Consumables alerts are easy to manage.
When we re-watch a film or re-read a book, we always notice something new that we had missed. Let’s take a look at how consumables alerts work and how they make it easier to manage your printer fleet. Did you miss any details…?
The ‘A. Consumables’ shows the list of alerts for the delivery of consumables that have not yet been installed in the corresponding equipment.
If we also want an email notification for each alert, we access the ‘Settings’ app and activate it, including as many emails as we want, separated by a comma. No duplicate emails: each consumables alert generates a single email so that management is agile and efficient, without wasting time checking.
Unlike other less efficient systems – where a search engine appears and you have to enter the % of load for the alert to be generated – the alert is triggered automatically once the consumable reaches the threshold we have pre-set in the ‘Status’ app. By default, cartridge/toner alerts are created when there is 20% charge left or the set threshold has just been exceeded.
For each printer or copier, the recommended reference (SKU or P/N), the date of notification of the alert, the current remaining level of the consumable and the number of days it is expected to last before running out are shown.
Continuing with the app ‘A. Consumables’, we can access “Show/Hide columns” and choose the columns we want to see on the panel (notified, cartridge, address, etc.). It is convenient to select the “Extra” field to know the status of the shipment, where we can edit where “***” appears and write the different stages, according to the logistics of each distributor (requested from supplier, in warehouse, sent to the customer, etc.).
Exceptionally, some consumables need to be initialised in the printer’s Cloud for alerts to be generated. These are the ones that appear with the red circle in the vls column of the Cloud, as we recently explained in a previous article.
Last but not least, we remind you that once the consumable has been installed in the customer’s printer, the alert automatically disappears from the ‘A. Consumables’ app. Consumables’, moving to the “Installations” app, where you will have the entire history of replaced consumables, with the date of notification of the alert and when it was installed, as well as the waste generated.
